ABOUT US
EVOLUTION OF THE COMPANY 1889: Start of the «Roofing frames» activity by Fernand MICHAUX and Julien FRENEHARD 1922: Creation of the family company FRENEHARD & MICHAUX, in L’AIGLE (61) - France 1922: Start of the «Gutter Fixing» business (gutter brackets, downpipe roud bracket) 1986: Integration of the company Vadot, specialised in the stamping of fascia brackets 1995: Construction of the new production unit specialising in the manufacture of gutter hardware products at the Saint-Symphorien-des-Bruyères site (SSB1) - Orne, 61 - France 1995: Development of «Fall Protection» products (scaffolding, permanent guardrails for flat roofs, anchoring points) 1997: Integration of the CHALVET establishments in Angers, start of the «Roof fixing» activity
2012: Construction of the new head office in Saint-Symphorien-des-Bruyères 2014: Integration of the production of slate hooks in Saint-Symphorien-des-Bruyères 2023: Start of the «on-line folding activity»
1922, GUTTERING ACCESSORIES (towards the industrialisation of manufacturing processes)
Post-war reconstruction gave FRENEHARD the opportunity to focus on gutter accessories (gutter brackets and downpipe round brackets), a complex market where there are as many varieties as there are French regions and even cities. To meet the needs of the market, the company industrializes its manufacturing process by creating the
first galvanizing bath and offers optimal responsiveness. The family business expands thanks to large regional orders.
The success of the FRENEHARD family business has been ensured by innovation, the constant improvement of manufacturing tools and, above all, all the men and women who have successively contributed to the development of the company. 1994, ROOFING ACCESSORIES (a historical know-how) With the merger of Etablissements CHALVET in 1997, FRENEHARD acquired a historical know-how and offers a wide range of roofing accessories: slate hooks, tile hooks, spikes and nails. The Anjou Color ® innovation has permanently revolutionised the world of roofing. The slate hook is no longer a simple accessory but has become a criterion of choice in the fixing of small roofing elements. 1997, FALL PROTECTION (from collective to individual protection) The evolution of regulations and the creation of new safety standards in the building world have led FRENEHARD to respond to new needs expressed by roofers in terms of safety. Already in the catalogue for many years with service hooks, Limonier ® gutter hooks Nantais or Havrais, temporary guardrails, etc., the fall protection activity has become a strategic direction for the company. Within 15 years, FRENEHARD has become a key player in fall protection by developing new products that are more resistant, easier to install and safer, while at the same time keeping up with changes in architecture and standards.
2023, FOLDING ACTIVITY (configurating to folding products on-line)

GUTTER BRACKETS
GUTTER AND DOWNPIPE
The FRÉNÉHARD range offers more than 800 different gutter brackets. They're adapted in line with the main gutter profiles available and their developed width or lift is identical to that of the gutter. Gutter brackets vary based on: X The regions or locations where they're used, X The type of installation (fascia, rafter, pricking, sealing, directly onto roofing, with entablature), X The profile of the gutter (1/2 round, square, moulded, V-shaped, etc.), X Their developed width (16, 25, 28, 33, 40, 45, 65) and their bead (14,18), X The type of build (new or renovation) which will define the shape and length of the rod, X The roofers' installation habits (nose shape, etc.). GENERAL INFORMATION & RECOMMENDATIONS
1/2 ROUNDS
MOULDED
NON-HANGING
SQUARE
Hot-dip galvanised products boast better protection against corrosion and chemical aggressions thanks to a layer of zinc which is at least 45 μm thick. They're suitable for attaching gutters in coastal or polluted environments. Pre-galvanised steel products are more economic. The thinner zinc layer and the unprotected cuts make them more sensitive to corrosion. Their use in coastal areas is not recommended in C5 zones.
PRE-GALVANISED STEEL AND HDG STEEL, TAKE NOTE!

Whether the gutter bracket is going into a strip rafter or fascia, FRÉNÉHARD recommends using a CFM nails to attach its gutter brackets in order to ensure that the bracket can properly support weight. FRÉNÉHARD’S TIP FOR BRACKET MOUNTING ATTACHING For tinted brackets, the two-year guarantee only applies for products with pre-shaped noses. The paint may be damaged by folding the nose.

The key product feature:
VADOT ® V MOUNTAIN
DIN Standard Wide flat back with 8 x Ø 5mm holes for simpler layout of the bracket on the fascia, and excellent support. It is compatible with installation on shafts or with fixing/flat-head clamp.
Cut-out rear clip which perfectly matches up with the gutter shape - no risk of the clip becoming detached. It is also rounded and therefore less aggressive to install. Deep ribbing for better resistance to the load.

Installing round downpipe spiked brackets*
Installing round downpipe brackets with bases Pierce the wall. Insert the plug. Remember to adapt the plug in line with the wall. Our plus is designed for full masonry. Screw the screw onto the bracket base. Screw the whole bracket/screw into the plug by using the 6 sides of the base, so that the bracket is horizontal. Max. torque setting: 4 Nm. Install the downpipe. Re-close the bracket using its second half, around the pipe.
Pre-pierce the wall. For an 8 mm square nail end, pierce the wall with a minimum diameter of 12 mm. Piercing with a diameter of under 12 mm will stress the nail end during installation. This could alter its anti-corrosion protection. Insert the nail end and the first half of the bracket. Seal the nail end using a mortar or cement, for example. Wait for the sealing to dry before installing the drain pipe. Re-close the bracket using its second half, around the pipe.
ROOF
ANCHOR POINTS
The choice of a round or square downpipe is purely aesthetic. * Spiked round brackets may be replaced by base round brackets with screws for ETI (page 51) in cases of insulated cladding.
