HOOKS

AND CLAMPS DOWNPIPES

CONNECTORS The standard NF EN 362 February 2005 specifies the requirements, testing methods, marking, and the manufacturer's information guide. Connectors are used with personal fall protection, such as fall protection systems, workstation positioning systems, restraint systems and rescue systems. Principle of standard testing Connectors mus support loads of 15 kN with the clasp open, and 20 kN with the clasp closed for a duration of 3 minutes ± 3 seconds. At the end of the test, the clasp should still be closed. INDUSTRY PROTECTION HELMETS The standard NF EN 397+A1 February 2013 specifies the physical and performance requirements, testing methods, and marking requirements for industrial protection helmets. The mandatory requirements apply to general industrial use helmets. Other additional and optional performance requirements are only applicable when they are specifically claimed by the helmet's manufacturer. Industrial protection helmets are initially designed to protect the wearer from falling objects, head injuries and consequent cranial trauma. ROOF SAFETY HOOKS The standard NF EN 517 February 2007 applies to safety hooks (construction products) located on the surface of sloping roofs permanently attached to the roof-bearing structure. They are designed for attaching roofers' ladders, attaching roofers' platforms and are used as anchor points for attaching safety harnesses or personal fall protection equipment. The standard NF EN 517 February 2007 specifies the essential dimensions, the materials to be used, and the applicable requirements regarding the bearing capacity of safety hooks attached to the roof structure, including their attachment system and the testing scope. This standard does not apply to equipment exclusively used as anchor points for safety harnesses or personal fall protection equipment.

NF EN 795 March 2016

Presentation of the standard The standard NF EN 795 March 2016 specifies the requirements, testing methods, instructions for use and the marking of anchor systems, designed exclusively for use with personal fall from height protection equipment. It doesn't apply to hooks designed according to EN 517 or to walkways according to EN 516, nor to fixed anchor points forming an integral part of the original structure. Principle of standard testing Class A1, A2 or B anchor points must resist a stress of 12 kN applied in the direction in which the stress is likely to be applied in use. During tests, the stress is maintained for 3 minutes. The anchor system must support the strength. Class C anchor points (and all elements composing it) must resist during tests with up to 1.5 times the admissible stress defined by the manufacturer. The anchor system must support the strength.
