Whenever, for technical reasons, collective protection is not possible, then fall-arresting PPE can be an option worth considering. These personal protection systems are used to stop a person from falling. Such a system always consists of : - a body-gripping system (safety harness) ; - a connection ; - connectors ( carabiners, etc.); - an anchor (permanent or temporary lifeline, anchor point, etc. ...). EMPLOYER OBLIGATIONS  Provide, free of charge and on a personal basis, of PPE matching the nature of the work.   Choose the right PPE, based on an analysis of the risks to be covered and the performance offered by the PPE.   Make sure the PPE is actually being used.   Make sure the PPE is conforming.   Make sure the person using/maintaining the PPE have received the information they need to do so   Make sure the PPE is working properly (maintenance, repairs and replacements).   Inform users of the risks against which the PPE protects them and the different conditions of use.   Have an approved organization train and instruct of users in the use of PPE

To comply with legislation and to ensure that the devices are in perfect condition, all PPE must be checked annually. The inspection report must be filed in the safety register. Any PPE not found in perfect condition should be immediately removed.
